Understanding Dyslexia

Overview:

Dyslexia is a developmental disorder that impairs a child’s ability to learn to read and write. Children cannot efficiently translate sounds into letters and the sound of words into their graphic notation; or put them in the correct order while reading and writing.

Also, Dyslexia impairs the perception of the order of words or numbers in written text. Even though Dyslexia disorder does not affect the child’s IQ, the dyslexic child has difficulties in spelling and reading. Often, Dyslexia can be difficult to diagnose because it is considered a child’s laziness and unwillingness to learn.

On the next page, we will share with you What is Dyslexia’s frequency in children? Be sure to check it out! And as always, if you have any concerns about dyslexia or your child’s development in general, talk to his doctor.
