Pyrenean Mountain Dog :
Originating from the Pyrenees, the mountains that separate France from Spain where they long have been used as guardians of the flocks and bred to deter sheep-stealing wolves and other predators on snowy mountaintops.
They are beautiful and look immensely strong and are as majestic as the mountains With their glorious thick white coats. They are large and immensely powerful working dogs that are Courageous, very loyal, and obedient.
When not provoked, it is a calm, well-mannered, serious dog.
It is a capable and imposing guardian, very wary of strangers, and devoted to his family even if self-sacrifice is required and well-behaved with children and other household pets.
These dogs want to be included in all family activities and are generally trustworthy, affectionate, and gentle, but if the need arises, they will not hesitate to try to protect their family and their territory.
They can however be aggressive towards other dogs of a similar size and can also be stubborn so they are not ideal for first-time owners.
You should know that having any breed of dog as protection is not like owning just a family dog/pet. It comes with added responsibility as it requires careful training and handling especially when it comes to large breeds.
