They can be reliable alert dogs and loving companions too.
But in order to develop these qualities, they have to be in the hands of a responsible owner. They have to be well-trained and socialized early; exposed to as many new people, animals, and situations as possible. An untrained, poorly trained, or abused Rottweiler can learn to be extremely aggressive and destructive.
